First Draft of DigiPak

This is my first draft of my Digipak. Within this design, I have used one of the fonts 'Indie Flower' from DaFont.com throughout the whole of the DigiPak so that it has a common indie theme. I am pleased with this design as the background relates to the hit single 'Cala Cola'. I also included realistic features such as the barcode, each song and the titles. Next I will be designing my Print advert and also touching a few things up within the DigiPak.

The Making of DigiPak

Here is the making of creating my First copy of my DigiPak. I am pleased with the result so far as I feel it relates to my indie genre, but I have also made it to relate to our actual music video as I have edited the two boys who are in the music video to be in the background of our location photographs. I have based the digiPak around the band so they can be more recognised as a group.

DigiPak and Print research Photoshoot

These are a few examples of our photo shoot which we have created today. We wanted to show just the two boys who are actually in the band instead of who was in the video. We felt that by having two boys, this would relate to the typical indie genre. I feel that these are some of the best examples of what I may use within my digiPak and Print Advert. Overall I feel that the photoshoot went well and we gained a couple of good Indie- like photographs.

Font Experimentation

Here are some examples of pre-made typography which I feel would relate to my typical genre. Each of these fonts were off of a website called 'DaFont'. You can type in any word, for example i typed 'Indie' as I wanted to relate to my genre and target audience. These are some examples of what i may use within my DigiPak and Print Advert.

DigiPak Template

This is an image of my DigiPak template which i will use when designing my DigiPak. Now that I have analysed all of the existing print research, I am now on to designing my own DigiPak. Whilst creating it I will be constantly relating to existing DigiPaks of the same genre, so that when firstly looking at it, you will instantly know that it is within the Indie Genre.

Time Managment

Here, I have created a time management calender sheet to show what I have planned for the rest of the December month. This shows that i have completely finished filming and I am now onto editing our final cut of our music video. Half way through the month I will be on to designing my album cover and print designing work for our album.

Extra Filming

As I have said previously, we were going to do extra filming as we felt like we did not have enough performance when looking back at our rough cut of our music video. Now we have finished the performance, we can start replacing the other performance part in the music video for our final copy. I think that we have done well to film this other performance part as we had to finish this in our own time. We decided to film with a plain black background so that it looked like a normal studio where the band usually practise. also, it appeals to our indie genre to have them recording in a studio. We also wanted the audience to purely focus on the people who are in the band. Here are a few examples of how we filmed and where we did it.

For our location, we decided to use the drama studio as there was a lot of space to film different angle shots. Next we will capture all of this footage and edit our first rough cut of our music video. I think that we are on target to complete our music video, as we will be coming in to extra lessons and editing our final music video.
