Pitch

Filming Update

Today, we had planned to film for the first time. We wanted to film part of the narrative of our music video as we only had around an hour and a half to film, this way we would of been able to get a feel for filming and to understand how long it will take to do what. However, this did not go to plan as we felt as a group that we were not prepared to shoot our music video. We wanted to do more planning in order to know what type of different angles we can achieve in the time set that we have for each filming period. As we break up for half term this week, I feel that it would be better to film after, as it will still be fresh in our minds and will also give time for people in our group to catch up with the work set. I will therefore create another time management update to allow me to know how much  time we have to film, so that we do not have to rush to film the whole of our music video.

Moodboard

This is my mood board which I have created to show what features our Music video is going to include. I have combined together images such as the beach, drinking and car journeys. This all signifies that as a group we would like to document a road trip to the beach. These combinations are all conventions of our chosen genre, as they will represent the typical teenage fun style of experimenting with new things such as drinking and having a good time with their friends. In terms of Goodwin's theory, the visuals will not relate to the lyrics so much as the lyrics concentrate on the worries of spending money. We thought instead of trying to match exactly what the lyrics were saying, we thought that as a group we could concentrate on the opposite, which will show how we have no worries and will represent teenagers just having fun which will really relate to the targeted audience. I feel that overall our idea is redundant. When you think of the Indie genre, you instantly think of fresh new things which the targeted audience may be doing with their friends which they then can relate to. for example, As we have chosen a road trip, this is something which they can instantly relate to as this audience would be passing their driving test and wanting to explore different locations. However, within our music video, there are some key entropic features that our music video idea may contain. Most indie genre based music videos have worries used which also relate to the targeted audience but may put a dampened mood on the whole of the music video, an example of this would be worrying about exams, friends or money. We have took this feature out of our music video as we wanted ours to be the opposite of the lyrics and to overall connote the good times which teenagers have with their friends.

Music Video Analysis

Here, I again chose another music video to analyse which is also under the same genre which we have chosen to do our music video on. I have chosen he song 'Techno Fan' by the well-known band - The Wombats. I am going to analyse such key points as Cinematography, Mise-en-scene, Camera movement, Editing, Shot types and finally, the representation which the Indie Genre puts across to the audience.

Time Management

I have Created a Time Management plan which allows us as a group to know when we are filming. As an individual, It allows me to plan when I am going to make sure my blog is up to date. As you can see we officially start filming on the 24th of February just before Half Term. This allows us to see how much we can get done in this amount of time.
